This was a Canadaian show called Illegal Eater with Steven Page of Barenaked Ladies. We talked conspiracy theories and Hollywood Babylon. He's an awesome cat, the show was supposed to be about a Miracle Berry tasting, alas....
Going to NYC for Chopped was the best. I got to eat at Tosi's Milk Bar and while I love the east coast, it reminds me of how lucky and incredible it is to live in LA!

I’ve recently been on a heavy “cutting” regimen to shed body fat and increase lean muscle mass. I’m only beginning to understand the phases that go into body building and whether I pursue that to the extreme is undecided at the moment but as I explore the parameters of this new world I like to utilize every available tool in the box to further my goals and so I’ve tapped into the world of supplements. Some of this has to do with a lifelong interest in Nootropics (“smart drugs”) and the rest is based on research I’ve done to maximize fat loss while increasing endurance and focus.
I discovered Health Supplement Wholesalers while looking for precisely that… a company to supply bulk Noopept in fact. Noopept (n-phenylacetyl-l-prolylglycine ethyl ester) is a relative of the racetam family, which is a group of popular nootropics said to enhance mental faculties. So far I must report that this is absolutely an accurate assessment of the supplement. I’ve transitioned from being unable to finish a simple Huffington post article to reading multiple page long Slate, Salon or Scientific Journal papers…and books again! This may sound silly but it is apparently one of the defining issues of our time. Many friends report the same problem and I was shocked to discover that these supplements really work! In addition to Noopept I’ve been working on a combination that synchs with fitness and found that HSW's green tea powder and L-glutamine work wonders for both energy, stamina and post workout muscle soreness. The more I delve into the world of body transformation the more I see L-Glutamine being touted as a near magical amino acid for rebuilding muscles and even contributing to a healthy GI tract. I can attest so far that it has immensely helped my workout and seemingly contributed to harder, larger muscle mass and definition.
As I discover more I will share and of course update on my current formulations. I ordered 10 different supplements from HSW and have been trial combining for various uses. One in particular is a blend to aid relaxation and sleep where, so far, the Phenibut, L-Theanine and Melatonin powders are working wonders… and for someone who has extreme insomnia! This company has been very easy to deal with. On one large order a supplement was missing so I informed them by email the evening of package arrival day and was surprised to find the missing package arrived the very next day… right at 24hrs! That is excellent customer service!
They have great deals every weekend and offer a wide range of bulk sizes so you can tune your orders accordingly. I’m stoked for this find at just the right time for my supplement needs. Feel free to email me with any questions about my trials and look for more information regarding these experiments soon!
We're working with Actually Huizenga to make her next video. A story we co-crafted together, this one is epic! We have almost reached our goal... check out the Kickstarter, donate and win a unique scent designed by pHeast or a 5 course pHeast for two!!
Isaiah Frizzell and Nick Feller during pHeast in Santa Monica... Nick was freezing a coulis in liquid nitro..
I'll remind: what we do is an ensemble performance. The cocktails, the food, the music, the art, the location. Our most recent dinner included live music by Tom Brousseau (um, this guy is a contemporary of Fiona Apple and Jon Brion :), visual projected art by SunDeep (an amazing mulit-talented artist), a give-away of hand printed and hand bound, glued and tied book by Kate Findley (another excellent and multi-talented artist) some beautifully crafted and deliciously inventive cocktails by mixologist Nick Feller (who also is an artist of many talents) and yes... 12 courses of food (vegetarian this time!) with four different proteins (the blind shall someday see) all the while a documentary was being filmed by a completely unrelated group of filmmakers. Surprise! Now you know.
I bill pHeast as live art because we have a variety of people and variables in our events and we like to highlight up and coming artists and innovative collaborators. Am I an amateur molecular gastronomist? Whaaaaat? who is? One thing i know... if im going to a movie, i talk about the movie as it pertains to itself... I include the variables. How could you possibly talk about the Wizard of Oz and not mention the yellow brick road or the poppie field and leave out the tin man and then lie about the scarecrow and ultimately deny that the wizard exists... unless... I just can't imagine that and fortunately I don't have to. I'm looking for the article in the LA Times I believe where an actual accomplished writer is calling for the end of the "hamburger wars" and asks when shall LA's food zombies wake up to the notion that hamburgers and hotdogs are the most deleterious and childish food we can fetishize... and that's what's going on. Here's your safe story: something tells me other forces are at bray, sheep.
Excellent article goes inside the FOOD LABS
Fresh! In our own Los Feliz backyard.
Thanks to http://www.tempeh.info/ we're hand fermenting tempeh, kim-chi, kombucha and developing some neat new tofu types... gently with a most mycelial touch.

<3 WELCOME HOME <3
What a warm welcome. My partners with Circle of Children (ec0-village children's school) have pulled me into orbit near Eugene, OR for their first major event! Here I'm cooking 10 courses of ENTIRELY organic food based on various regions of India yet pH alchemized <3 Their kitchen is amazing and this PNW forestry is almost as delightful as going home to Tennesee. The event, *Time to Shine * will be televised.
pHeast is a Supper Club in Los Angeles and we travel.
pHeast is a Supper Club in Los Angeles and we travel. Yep, like a band (that plays cuisine :)
I walk the streets and scour the grid to find tasty, seasonal specialties in every corner of every city across the globe. I'll wrap them in care and you will love it :)
Want to be invited? Want to know where the dinner is?
It's been a few months since our last pHeast which was the second of a series, a trilogy, the finale of an idea, the last of which will finally appear not as a pHeast dinner but a pHeast story. See, pHeast has always been about artistic expression… poetry, cosmology, archaeology, finance… but all great visions take time to blossom.. to become aware of themselves… to become alive! and guess what?…. It's alive! I think we know what pheast is now. For sure It's a traveling kitchen band redefining fine dining but.. what also happens is we writes, paints, parties, designs and makes your social life more interesting. We refuse rules (even that one) and what you will see from us will definitely challenge any notion of pretty much anything you can notion up.. we got potion for those jokes. we hold candles for ever cause ever loves light.
Bee Tee Double U... pHeast is Isaiah Frizzell and Nick Feller and Kate Findley and Shawn Pierce and whoever we find interesting enough to work with at the time.
